      The YMCA is working to remove the barriers to good health and develop a broad range of solutions for every age. Our research-based curriculum and programs provide opportunities for personal growth, social development, leadership and recreation in safe and caring environments. The YMCA offers a vareity of programs including employment and essential skills, education, newcomer programs, youth leadership, outreach and intervention, health and fitness, child care and camps and volunteer development. In 2012-2013 over 489,000 people participated in programs. With over 7,000 volunteers and 400 program sites across the GTA, the YMCA strives to build the foundations of community health by serving all ages and income levels, while ensuring our children have equal access to opportunity. 4 in 10 low income residents access YMCA programs and services each year and we believe it is critical that every child has access to safe, supportive environments - no matter what their parents' economic situation may be.
